it's so important to follow aftercare to get the best results from your treatment...

Your skin may be red or have raised bumps for up to 48 hours after your treatment.

Do not have a hot bath or shower for 48 hours (using cool or luke warm water is fine)

No steam or sauna or sunbeds for 48 hours.

Avoid activity that may cause sweating for 48 hours.

Avoid swimming for 48 hours.

Do not apply perfume creams or lotions for 48 hours.

For face waxing avoid make up for 48 hours.

For underarm waxing avoid deodorant for 48 hours.

If there is strong sunlight keep areas that have been waxed covered and in the shade.

Avoid shaving between treatments.

Waxing for the face would usually be ready to be waxed again in 2-6 weeks time, for the body 4-8 weeks time (depending on your hair growth)

Brush your lashes daily and clean them regularly (Only clean them with hot water and a lash extension shampoo or Johnsons baby shampoo).

Don’t use any other cleansers or make up removers on the lashes.

Don’t use Kohl pencil on the top lash line.

Don’t use mascara on Russian volume lashes. Eyelash extension mascara can be used on classics (this is removed with hot water).

Don’t pick or pull the extension– this will damage your natural lashes.

Don’t use an eyelash curler.

Avoid using steam or saunas regularly.

You will need to have a patch test every 3 months (even if you are having the treatment regularly) .

If you become pregnant you will need to be re patch tested before having your next treatment.

If you start taking any new medication you will need to be re patch tested before having your next treatment.

Patch tests must be carried out at least 48 hours before your appointment. Please arrange patch tests before your appointment, if you turn up to the appointment and haven’t had one we can’t carry out the treatment.

Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes for 24 hours.

Avoid getting lashes wet for 24 hours (Lift/Perm only).

If you experience any stinging after your treatment flush your eyes out with cold water (even after a lift/perm- if you need to).

No swimming for 24 hours.

If you experience any reaction please let us know immediately.

You will need to have a patch test every 6 months, even if you are having the treatment regularly.

For St tropez or vani T 8% tans leave the spray tan solution on for a minimum of 8 hours, the colour can continue developing for up to 12 hours.

If you have had a velocity spray tan rinse the spray tan solution off in 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for a medium tan and 3 hours or more for a dark tan. (Velocity will continue developing for up to 8 hours once it has been rinsed off).

Whilst waiting to rinse your tan off-

Don’t get it wet at all (this includes washing your hands!)

Don’t apply any creams, make up, deodorant or perfume over the top.

Keep clothes loose and avoid wearing tight straps (e.g. a bra, tight sandals).

Don’t do anything that might make you sweat.

To rinse the spray tan solution just use water and pat your skin dry afterwards.

To Maintain-

Moisturise every day using the St Tropez moisturiser.

Exfoliate every 2 to 3 days with St Tropez body polish.

Cleaners and shower gels can be used however please be aware that some shower gels, moisturisers and scrubs can affect your tan especially if they contain oil or essential oils- this may affect how long your tan lasts or how it fades.

Shower rather then bath if possible.

Chlorine may affect the tan so where possible avoid swimming.

The tan will not give you any protection form the sun so continue to use SPF.

All spray tans last up to 7 days.

Skin may be pink, red or have streak like marks for up to 48 hours– this is erythema which is normal after microdermabrasion.

Your skin may be dry or flaky after the treatment, keep it well moisturised (for the first 12 to 24 hours leave the aftercare that that has been applied at the end of your treatment on, continue with advised skin routine the morning after your treatment).

Avoid make up for 24 hours after your treatment.

Avoid touching your skin for 24 hours after treatment. No waxing for one week after treatment.

No botox or other injections for a minimum of a week after treatment.

No exfoliations/peels for a week after treatment.

Avoid strong sunlight for one to two weeks after treatment, always apply an SPF 30 or 50 to your face.

No sunbeds for a minimum of a week after treatment.

Drink lots of water.

You must avoid sunlight following your treatment for the next 4 weeks (Keep your face out of the sun, wear a sun hat and wear SPF 30 or 50.

No exfoliating for at least one week then only gentle exfoliating once a week thereafter. No waxing for a minimum of one week.

No other peels for at least 4 weeks.

You can have this facial again in 4 weeks time, not before.

If you are having any other beauty or aesthetic treatments within 4 weeks of this facial advise the therapist that you have had this treatment done beforehand.

Keep your skin moisturised in between treatments.

Drink lots of water.

Your skin may be red or have heat bumps following your treatment- this can last up to 48 hours.

Avoid hot baths and showers, sauna, steam and aerobic exercise for 24 hours.

Avoid swimming for 24 hours.

Avoid touching the area and applying creams, make up and perfumed products for 24 hours.

Leave aftercare lotion on your skin for as long as possible following your treatment.

To cleanse the area within the first 48 hours after your treatment use a mild cleanser and pat dry with a clean towel.

We recommend using aloe vera gel after your treatment.

Possible side effects-

If scabs form after your treatment avoid picking them.

Bruising can occur following the treatment, this will subside in 5-15 days.

Please let us know if you experience any side effects from your treatment (scabs, bruising or redness and bumps that lasted beyond 48 hours).

Following the treatment use the aloe vera gel provided when needed.

Use a cooling compress if required.

Avoid friction on the area for at least 24 hours (tight clothing etc)

Avoid exfoliation or peels for at least a week.

Avoid any heat treatments (sauna, steam hot baths or showers, aerobic exercise) for at least 24 hours following the treatment.

Avoid skin irritants, highly perfumed products and bleaches for at least 24 hours after treatment.

Do not remove the hairs from the follicle in between treatments (e.g. waxing, plucking, epilating, threading). Only shave, trim or use depilatory creams.

Use a high protection sun cream on the treatment area for at least a month following the treatment (SPF 30 or 50) and avoid strong sunlight (please advise us of sunny holidays planned before your treatment- you will need to avoid IPL treatment 3-4 weeks before and after sunny holidays).

Avoid sunbeds for 3-4 weeks before and after treatment.

Do not use retinol based products in between treatments.

Avoid swimming in strongly chlorinated water.

Drink plenty of water to hydrate your body.

Possible side effects-

A burning sensation- may last and hour after the treatment then should subside- use aloe gel or cooling compress.

Swelling- should subside within a few hours but can last up to 7 days.

Fragile skin- avoid rubbing the skin or applying creams/ make up- aloe gel can be applied.

A crust or blister- allow to heal and do not pick.

Bruising- will subside in 5-15 days, in severe cases could take up to 3 months to fade.

Change of pigmentation (hyper or hypo)- Most cases occur when skin has been exposed to sunlight before or after the treatment. In most cases this will fade within 6 months. There is a risk this can be permanent.
